Dana Esther Loper was born November 4, 1917, to Ralph D. and Florence E. Van Gilder Loper at Indianola, Iowa. She graduated from Mulvane High School in Mulvane, Kansas. On April 19, 1941, she was united in marriage to Earl L. Puffett at Bell, Calif. They moved to the Eagle Grove area in 1949. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Eagle Grove where she was active in church circles, the United Methodist Women, Equality Club and was a Sunday School Teacher. Dana Esther Puffett died Thursday, October 9, 1997, at the Clarion Health Care Center in Clarion, at the age of 79.

Survivors include her husband, Earl of Eagle Grove; two sons, Norman Puffett, and his wife, Betsy, of Danbury, Conn., and Donald Puffett, and his wife, Mary, of Cedar Rapids; two granddaughters; and a sister, Ethel Pinella of New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Eleanor Liljegren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 11, 1997, at 1:30 p m., at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove with the Reverend William E. Ballard officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove. Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, was in charge of arrangements.
