April 9, 1929 ---- March 25, 1989

Albert Moss, 59, of Spencer died Sat. March 25, 1989 at a hospital in Spencer. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Tues. March 28, at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer with pastors, Lee Sather and Randy Scheil officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Spencer.

Moss was born April 9, 1929 in Rock Valley. His childhood years were spent in the Rock Valley and Boyden area. He graduated from Newkirk High School and attended Northwestern College. He graduated from Central College in Pella and from Western Theological Seminary at Holland, MI. He married Aileen Kuhlers Aug. 12, 1952, in Belmond. He served as a pastor in churches in Canada and Iowa, serving Hope Reformed in Spencer from 1969 until his retirement Sept. 1, 1988.

He was an active member of the Daybreaker Kiwanis for 10 years, served as charter member of the Meals on Wheels board, was on the Big Brother-Big Sister board and chairperson of the Clay County Advisory Board of Public Health. He was involved in the local hospital chaplaincy program and provided a weekly Sunday Radio broadcast on KICD in Spencer.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Judy Wallace of Clinton, Cheryl Bergstrom of Madison, WIS; Arlys Moss of Des Moines and Le Ann Moss of Grand Rapids, MI; four sisters, Agnes Wielenga and Marilyn Bruxvoort of Orange City, Joan Vander Schaaf of Rock Valley and Charlene Vogel of Sheldon; three brothers, Peter of Hospers, James of Boyden and Eugene of Sioux Center; and four grandchildren.
