Beth R. Shafer, 74, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Dec. 6, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home. She was born Nov. 25, 1940, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Charles and Nadine Larsen Secor. She married Glenn DuBois on June 20, 1972, in Akins, Minn. Beth graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1959. She was employed with Walmart for 29 years, retiring in 2007. Survived by: her husband; two sons, Donald of Waterloo and David of Omaha; a daughter, Shelley Shafer of Philadelphia; two grandchildren, Morgan Shafer and Brian Chism; two great-grandchildren, Chris and Mayslinn Chism; and a brother, Leslie (Betty) Secor of Des Moines.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.
