June L. Anderson, 61, of Van Horne, formerly of Marengo, died Thursday morning, March 11, 2004, at her home following a long battle with cancer. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, by Chaplain Christine Wagner-Hecht. Burial: Marengo Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; four daughters, Jodi Bierschenk and husband Paul of Newhall, Terri Breitbach of Cedar Rapids, Krista Anderson and fiance Rick Abbott of Orlando, Fla., and Donna Bordwell and husband Chad of Madison, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Stephanie and Kelli Breitbach, Debi, Jonathan and Jacob Bierschenk and Katarina and Elizabeth Bordwell; and five sisters, Maureen Storm and husband Mel of Faribault, Minn., Claire Buresh and husband Norman of Arlee, Mont., Jenet Marten of Florence, Mont., Kathy Lunn and husband Jim of Bartlesville, Okla., and Doris Doty of Battleground, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents.

June Leona Roepke was born June 28, 1942, in Algona, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Leona Steil Roepke. She attended Algona schools and married Roger Dean Anderson on Aug. 2, 1958, in Le Grande, Iowa. The couple lived in Marengo for many years before moving to the Van Horne area. Besides being a homemaker, June worked part-time at Richard's Variety and Pioneer Seed in Marengo. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and sewing in her free time.
