July 1, 1900 --- July 2, 1954

Clyde William Milnes, son of Sam C. and Edith Milnes, was born July 1, 1900 in Clarion, Iowa and died at Chariton, Iowa July 2, 1954. His early boyhood was spent at Clarion, Dows and Galt, Iowa, where he united with the Presbyterian church. He moved with his parents to Des Moines in 1922 where he was associated with the grocery business. He was married to Margaret Maxine Blanchard on July 23, 1938. For the past 20 years he has been a representative of the J. A. Folger Company in various Iowa territories. He was a member of the Carl L. Caviness post of the American Legion of Chariton, the Elks lodge of Creston, and the Cyrene Masonic Order of Clarion.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, two sons, William D., of Rapid City, S. Dak., Robert B., at home, his parents, Sam and Edith Milnes of Del Norte, Colo., and five nieces and nephews, Janice DeRemer of Alamosa, Colo., John Earhart of San Diego, Calif., James Earhart of Eldon, Iowa, and Tommy and Margaret Johnson of Sweetwater, Tenn. Preceding him in death was a sister, Janice, who passed away in 1936. Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 1954, with the Rev. J. T. Bloom officiating. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
