NORA SPRINGS, IA – Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Nora Springs, for Carl E. Cooper, 60, of Nora Springs, who died Monday (March 21, 1988) at a Mason City hospital. Dr. J. Elmer Brunk will officiate and burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer-Sheckler Colonial Chapel, Nora Springs, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight.

Mr. Cooper was born July 19, 1927, in Kanawha to Gratus and Leona (Hartwig) Cooper. He was married to Betty (Hubbard) Cooper from 1955 to 1959 and after her death married his second wife, Mona, in 1966. Mr. Cooper had farmed in the Cedar Falls, Clear Lake and Nora Springs areas. He was a trustee in Portland Township, Cerro Gordo County.

Survivors include his wife, Mona, Nora Springs; one daughter, Carla Cooper, Nora Springs; one son, David of Nora Springs; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Timothy (Barbara) Quam, Nora Springs; two stepsons, Bradley Miller, Garner, and Bryan Miller, Geneva; six step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Richard of Glasgow, Mo., and Keith Cooper, Eden Prairie, Minn. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
