A. C. THOMPSON DIES AT HOME NEAR HARDY MONDAY, MARCH 19

Adolph C. Thompson, a pioneer resident of the Renwick and Hardy communities, passed away at his home Monday morning, March 19, following a lingering illness. He was 76 years of age. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, March 22, at one-thirty o'clock at his home and two o'clock at the Methodist church in Hardy with the Rev. Paul W. Nell officiating. He was laid to rest in the Vernon cemetery.

He was married to the former Luella Olden and on October 18, 1943, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Eight children were born to this union, twins, Maurice and Marjory, passing away in infancy. With the exception of three years spent in Webster county, he was a resident of the Hardy-Renwick community all of his wedded life. Mr. Thompson ran a general store in Hardy for three years and also operated a restaurant and store business in Renwick for many years. About twenty years ago he purchased the Meyers farm west of Renwick and has lived there since. He is a member of the Renwick Masonic Lodge and the Hardy Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife; four sons Lawrence of Greeley, Colorado; Don of Seattle, Washington, Boyd of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Lois Trieschmann of Ida Grove, Robert in the service overseas, and Charles at home. A sister, Miss Bessie Thompson of Webster City and a number of grandchildren also survive.
