Funeral services for Lucille E. Christensen, 69, Dakota City were held Wednesday Aug 17 at the Mason, Lindhart funeral Home in Humboldt, with burial in the Indian Mound Cemetery, Humboldt. She died Monday Aug 15, at her home, following an extended illness. The Mason Lindhart Funeral home was in charge of arrangements with Eugene Smith officiating. Casket bearers were Dennie Steil, Clem Steil, Jerry Steil, Jr, Chad Fredin, Eddie Steil, William Wolf Sr, Carl Steil, and Tom Steil. Survivors include her husband Richard; two daughters: Joyce Bannert of Brownsville, Tx and Judy Weier of Fort Campbell, Ky; one son, Jerry Steil of Livermore; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters; and two brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edward Steil; and two grandchildren.

Lucille Elizabeth Stein, the daughter of John and Gertrude Binfield Stein, was born March 3, 1925 at St. Nicholas, MN where she was reared and educated. In 1946 she married Edward Steil at Eden Valley, MN and they lived in Minnesota until 1951, when they moved to the Hardy area and were engaged in farming. Following his death in 1978, she made her home in Humboldt. In 1981 she married Richard Christensen at Mankato, MN and they made their home in Dakota City.
