April 25, 1910 --- November 17, 1983

Lucille Frances Steil, 73, Lu Verne, died Thursday, Nov. 17, at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livermore, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Livermore. Garry-Roberts-Schaaf Funeral Home, Lu Verne, waa in charge of arrangements, where a pariah rosary was said on Sunday evening. Father Edward Fandel officiated at the funeral services. Caaketbearera were Clem Steil, Dennis Steil, Gerald Steil, Frank Steil, Duane Heinen, Merle Birnbaumer, Dale Clark and Dan Pavel.

Survivors include three sons: Richard, Windom, Texas; Edward, Lee-Summit, Mo.; and Thomas, Galesburg, Illinois; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Birnbaumer, Clare, and Raymond Birnbaumer, Thor; one sister, Mrs. Herman (Josephine) Heinen, Lu Verne.

Francis Lucille was born April 26, 1910, to Peter and Frances Gertrude Mines Birnbaumer at Hardy. She grew up as a child in the Hardy, Renwick, Livermore area and graduated from the Livermore High School in 1928. She married William G. Steil Nov. 26, 1937, in Livermore. Mrs. Steil waa a housewife and she and her husband farmed in the area. They moved into Lu Verne in 1962. Mr. Steil died in May 1967. Mrs. Steil was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Livermore, where she was a member of the ladies guild. She was also a member of the Lu Verne Senior Citizens and the Birthday Club of Renwick.
