Edna May Coleman, the daughter of Clyde and Ethel (Marley) Sims, was born June 16, 1915, in Troy [should be Wright] County, IA. She attended country school in Troy Township and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1933. She taught country school for two years. She was united in marriage to Murray D. Coleman on November 9, 1935, in St. Clair, MN. The couple lived in Eagle Grove, IA, Valparaiso, IN, Perry, IA, Dubuque, IA, Spartanburg, SC, Shenandoah, IA, and Enid, OK, and finally Dallas, TX (because of Murray's work). They moved to Dallas, TX in 1956 where Murray retired at Collins Radio Co. in 1979. Edna worked in retail sales for Titche's Goettinger for 28 years before retiring in 1985. They were married for 72 years before Murray's death in 2008. Edna Coleman died Thursday, November 20, 2014, at TexSen Group Homes in Dallas at the age of 99 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Paul Sims, and sister-in-law, Marion Sims. Survivors include her son, Gary D. Coleman, and daughter, Joyce L. Wylie. Graveside services will be held at the Mausoleum at Hilltop Cemetery, Carrollton, TX Friday, November 28, 2014 at 12:30pm. Memorials may be made to Bible Prayer Fellowship;
