WERSTEIN, 47 -- SERVICES AT WARD’S HOME ON FRIDAY

CLEAR LAKE -- Funeral services for Anton Werstein, 47, Tanglefoot, Clear Lake, who died suddenly at Mason City Wednesday morning, will be held at Ward’s Funeral Home Friday at 2 p.m. Dr. E. W. Day, pastor of the Congregational Church, will conduct the rites and burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Werstein was born in Austria-Hungary Feb. 7, 1907, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Werstein. He came to America with the family when about two months old, living in Chicago and at Portland, Ore., before coming to Cerro Gordo County. About 19 years ago he was married at Mason City to Miss Emma Robbs, Belmond. They have lived in or near Clear Lake and Mason City since. Mr. Werstein, who was employed by Davey and Moen, Mason City contractors, was a member of Labor Local 552.

Besides his wife, Mr. Werstein is survived by four sons; Donald, 18, Lyle, 15, Glenn, 12, and Richard, 10; his father, Sam Werstein, 1564 Carolina N.E., Mason City; four brothers, Sebastian and Mike Werstein, Mason City, Casper Werstein, Jessup, and Sam Werstein Jr., Garner, and three sisters, Mrs. Dale (Eva) Sutton, Mason City; Mrs. Bernard (Rose) Lang, Omaha, Neb., and Mrs. Eli (Annie) Larson, Forest City. He was preceded in death by his mother who died July 13, 1943; a brother, Carl, and a sister, Elizabeth, who died as children.
