Janet Ann (Royal) Pedersen was born on October 1, 1938, in Newhall, California to Harry and Irma (Belamy) Royal. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from William S. Hart High School. Janet was united in marriage to Richard H. Pedersen in 1961 in Las Vegas, NV. She and Dick lived and raised their family in and around Eagle Grove for the past 53 years. She was an accomplished seamstress making clothes for her family, Halloween costumes for her grandchildren, doll clothes, alterations for many people of the community and many volunteer sewing projects. Janet was the business manager for her husband's trucking operation for many years and held various part-time jobs around Eagle Grove, with her main and most loved job being a loving mother and wife. Prior to declining health, she did extensive volunteer work at her beloved church, the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove.

Janet passed comfortably surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge at the age of 76. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Leland and Bonnie. Janet was the step-mother of Steve (Arlene) Pedersen of Manson and Darrell (Shelby) Pedersen of Eagle Grove; mother of Pam (John) Baretich of Colorado Springs, CO, Chris (Tammy) Pedersen of Badger and Donya (Joe) Gerard of Williams, CA; grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, whose pictures adorned her home abundantly. She is survived by them all and her younger brother, Larry.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 14, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Dr. Fran Pettigrew officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
