Paul Yon, son of John and Emma Zinser Yon, was born in El Paso, Illinois, on August 18, 1905 and passed away March 18, 1957 at his farm home at the age of 51 years, 7 months and 4 days. When he was a small boy, he moved with his parents to Eagle Grove. He attended the public school and graduated from the Eagle Grove high school with the class of 1925. He later attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

He was united in marriage to Viola Kouss, who preceded him in death on March 30, 1955. To this union were born two daughters, Jacqueline and Mary. Paul farmed and was a breeder of purebred Duroc hogs for the past 20 years.

On May 2, 1956 he was united in marriage to Helen Struhar. Besides his wife, Helen, and two daughters, Jacqueline and Mary, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. J. T. Yon of Eagle Grove, and one brother, Wyatt, of Storm Lake, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, his father in 1940, and two sisters. Paul was a member of the First Congregational church, Bower Lodge, Eagle Grove Chapter and Medina Council all of Eagle Grove and Za Ga Zig Shrine in Des Moines. At the time of his death he was serving as secretary of the Eagle Grove District Fair board.
