Mary Elizabeth Coyle, daughter of George and Vida Kautz Nash, was born June 14, 1895 at Greenville, Ill. She passed away Sept. 29, 1965 at Mercy hospital, Fort Dodge, Iowa. She spent her early life in Illinois where she attended the Baptist church and the public schools. She was united in marriage to John Coyle on Jan. 11, 1919. They farmed in the Ottosen and Rolfe community for 30 years, moving to Minnesota in 1949 where they farmed 5 years. They moved to Eagle Grove in 1954 where she operated a home bakery. Mr. Coyle passed away Oct. 29, 1956. They were parents of four children, one daughter dying in infancy. Surviving are Mrs. Mabel Nicolino, Des Moines; Mrs. Patricia Johnson, Thor; and John Coyle, Jr., St. Paul, Minn. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters, Mrs. Julia Coyle, Ottosen; Mrs. Dorothy Coleman and Mrs. Hattie Coleman of Texas; Mrs. Rebecca Melm, Mrs. Bertha Jung and Mrs. Josephine Griffith of Illinois; three brothers also survive, John, Bert, and George Nash of Illinois. Her husband, parents and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 2 at Kastler Funeral Home, Eagle Grove, at 10:30 and at the Presbyterian church at Ottosen at 2:00. Rev. Jordan Jacobson officiating. Burial was at Union Cemetery at Ottosen.
