Jane Kastler, 60, of Osceola died Sept. 13, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola. Interment was in French Church Cemetery in Woolstock. Memorials may be given to Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Jane D. Kastler, son of P. Jane (Hitchcock) and John Henry Kastler, was born Dec. 22, 1953, in Webster City. Jane was a cashier for Fareway Food Stores. She also spent a number of years working at Auto Assemblies in Murray, Bunn-O-Matic in Creston and Hormel Foods in Osceola, before she returned to Fareway in Osceola. Jane was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

Jane is survived by her sister Connie Kastler of Osceola; brothers, John (Jan) Kastler of Omaha, Neb., and Monte Kastler of Osceola; nieces, Rachel (James) Emary of Omaha, Neb., and Sarah Kastler of Omaha, Neb.; nephews, Monte (Brandi) Kastler Jr. of Bondurant and Casey Kastler of Osceola; great-nephews, John S. Emary, Benjamin J. Emary and Ryne Kastler; as well as other relatives and many friends. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and sister Cyndi Kastler.

Jane D. Kastler, daughter of John Henry Kastler and P. Jane Hitchcock Kastler was born December 22, 1953 in Webster City, Iowa and passed from this life Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at 60 years of age.

Jane could be seen in the community for many years working as a cashier for Fareway Food Stores. She also spent a number of years working at Auto Assemblies in Murray and Bun-O-Matic in Creston, Hormel Foods in Osceola before she returned to Fareway in Osceola.

Jane enjoyed horses and was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. She traveled to many horse shows and horse sales. One of her many horse shows she attended was the 2007 American Quarter Horse Association World Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was always willing to help children get their first experience of horses, letting them ride and be around her horses. Jane loved the Iowa State Fair and attended every year of her life, 60 years. She enjoyed reading, football, and was an avid Raiders and ISU fan. She loved her nieces and nephews and spending time spoiling them, almost as much as she spoiled her little dogs.

Those relatives who preceded Jane in death were her parents and sister, Cyndi Kastler. Jane leaves to cherish her memory; sister, Connie Kastler of Osceola, IA; brother, John (Jan) Kastler of Omaha, NE, brother, Monte Kastler of Osceola, IA, niece, Rachel (James) Emary of Omaha, NE, niece, Sarah Kastler of Omaha, NE, nephew, Monte (Brandi) Kastler, Jr. of Bondurant, IA, nephew, Casey Kastler of Osceola, IA, great nephew, John S. Emary, great nephew, Benjamin J. Emary, great nephew, Ryne Kastler as well as other relatives and many friends. Memorials may be directed to Muscular Dystrophy Association.
