April 10, 1896 --- February 13, 1970

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at the Hegre Lutheran church with the Rev. Gene Sikkink officiating. Rev. Karsten Kristenson sang two vocal selections accompanied by Benjamin Rehnke, the church organist. Maurice Cain, Elmer Kleven, Marvin Hill, Irvin Nelson, Martin McGinley and Alvin Anderson served as Casket Bearers. Interment took place at the Hegre Cemetery.

Magnus Langeland passed away Feb. 13, at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rochester, after a short illness, at the age of 73 years. The son of Knute and Torborg Langeland, he was born April 10, 1896, at Skpol, Norway. He emigrated to the United States in April 1914, settling in Thor, Iowa, until the year of 1922 when he moved to the West Concord area. March 12, 1925 he was united in marriage to Amanda Eliason at the Gol Lutheran Church. With the exception of four years, from 1942 to 1946 when he engaged in farming near Kasson, he has been engaged in farming in the West Concord area since 1922. He is survived by one son, Glen Langeland of Minneapolis, one foster daughter, Mrs. Irene Bowers of Rockford, Ill., three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Molly Koprek of Sauk Rapids. His wife Amanda preceded him in death on May 25, 1969, one brother, Torbjorn.
