Death of H. W. Greutzmacher.
The news of the death of Henry W. Greutzmacher last Sunday morning at his home in Waterloo, Iowa, which reached this community Monday came as a distinct shock. His death was, quite sudden and unexpected to his large circle of friends in Hancock county, the immediate cause being the bursting of a blood vessel during an attack of typhoid fever. He was sick but a few days.
Henry Greutzmacher was a man well known to the business community of Garner, Klemme and Waterloo, Iowa. In connection with his brother Charles he opened one of the first stores in Klemme when that town was laid out, and from the start made a success of his bushiness.
A year or so ago he sold out to his brothers and became interested in the Waterloo Carriage company, of which he was president at the time of his death. He was connected with the banks at Klemme and Kanawha as a stock holder and director and in all his business transactions was known as an honest, shrewd, careful business man, well respected and regarded by his associates and beloved by his friends generally.
The body will arrive in Klemme today and the funeral will take place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. from the German M. E. church and will be held under the auspices of Bethel Lodge No. 319, A.F.& A.M. of which he was a member. The remains will be laid away in the Klemme cemetery. An obituary will appear in this paper next week.
