January 24, 1905 ---- July 24, 1989

CLEAR LAKE – Ida Snyder, 84, of 615 S. Eighth St., Clear Lake, died Monday (July 24, 1989) at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Mason City, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Daniel Krumrei officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St. Clear Lake. The family requests memorials be given to the Christian Church, Clear Lake.

She was born Jan. 24, 1905, in Clay County, Ind., a daughter of Frederich and Mary (Redenbacker) Hoffman. She attended country school for one year in Indiana. She moved with her parents and attended country school in Stanhope, Ind. She married George Snyder on Jan. 24, 1924, in Meservey. She worked most of her life in cafes. She worked for Halford’s Café, now called the Coffee Shop, and the Muskie Lounge. She was a member of the Christian Church, Clear Lake.

Survivors include two sons, Dale of Eagle Grove, and Dean, Clear Lake; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
