MADISON, WI - Bernice L. Kelly, age 101, passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. Bernice was born on March 7, 1913, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Bertha (Severson) Midland. She married William H. Kelly on Oct. 15, 1944, in Madison. Bernice worked for the UW-Madison Computer Science Department, retiring after 17 years. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and volunteered for many funerals.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Sheilagh (Mikel) Lien of Blanchardville; and her granddaughter, Dawn (Rob Simons) Schwartz of Madison. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents; brothers, L.T. "Dutch" Midland and Floyd "Shorty" Midland; and sisters, Inez and Sybil.

Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, Wisconsin at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 30, 2014, with the Rev. Curtis Everson presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, TV Ministry.
