Jean H. Cammack -- U.S. Veteran

Jean Hoath Cammack, 84, died June 6, 2014, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. He was born March 26, 1930, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Chester Earl and Marion (Hoath) Cammack. Jean graduated from Anthony High School, Anthony, Kansas in 1949. He then served in the United States Navy. Jean worked as an operations manager for Braniff Airlines, in San Antonio, Texas, for 25 years. He later worked for Kmart as a department manager. Jean attended the Midland Community United Church of Christ.

He married Jeannette Hosselton on Feb. 18, 1951, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He later married Luann Haxton on Dec. 26, 1975, in San Antonio, Texas. She died April 8, 2014. Survivors include: a daughter, Deb England and husband Kit of San Antonio, Texas; son-in-law, George Brauer and Jan of South Hutchinson; two granddaughters, Julie Brauer of Manhattan, and Kristi King and husband Lane of Longview, Texas; three great grandchildren, Alex, Katelyn and Adam; and his beloved dog, China Doll. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a step-daughter, Meri Jane Brauer.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday June 13, 2014, at Midland Community United Church of Christ, 1945 22nd Road, rural Sterling, with Pastor Judy Conners presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today through Thursday with family to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Midland Community United Church of Christ, or the Lucky Dog Program Friends of Animals in Need, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
