Paul A. Stupka, 63, a resident of Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, and formerly of Clarion, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Hospice of North Iowa in Mason City. A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Stupka will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue North East in Clarion with Father Jerry Blake officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarion. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East, in Clarion with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:00 PM.

Paul Anthony Stupka was born May 4, 1951 to George and Phyllis (O’Neel) Stupka in Belmond. He attended school in Eagle Grove, where there was a Special Education program. Paul lived at home with his parents until moving to Opportunity Village in Clear Lake, where he made his home for the past 27 years. Paul worked a number of different jobs at Opportunity Village over the years, shredding paper was among his favorite. The residents and staff became a part of his family. Paul loved watching sports and shopping, especially at Decker’s Sporting Goods in Mason City. He loved wearing his sports gear and he had a pair of socks for every season and occasion. Paul was a member at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion where he loved to attend when he was able.

Paul is survived by his mother, Phyllis Stupka of Clarion and his brother Jim (Marilyn) Stupka of Mooresville, Indiana; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends; along with the loving and caring staff and residents of Opportunity Village. Paul was preceded in death by his father, George Stupka.
