A Peterson Of Dolliver Dies at 86
Arne Peterson, 86, died at 10:20 p.m. yesterday at the Melvin O. Peterson home in Dolliver. He had been confined to his bed since July 29 as the result of a series of strokes and was completely paralyzed except for small movements of his fingers. Born Oct. 29, 1869 at Dows in Franklin county, Mr. Peterson was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson. He and his brother, Melvin Peterson, had always farmed and worked together. Best man at Melvin’s wedding, Mr. Peterson had continued to make his home with his brother and family for 63 years. Farming near Dows until 1910 the Petersons then moved to Emmet county and farmed in Lincoln township until 1937 when they retired and moved into Dolliver.Survivors include Melvin and two other brothers, Albert of Los Angeles and William of Dolliver, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Moe of Lake Park and Mrs. Christie M. Richard of Los Angeles. Two sisters, Carrie Crabtree and Edith Wicks and a half sister Carrie Rood preceded him in death. Funeral services have tentatively been scheduled to be conducted at the Methodist church in Dolliver following services at the Melvin Peterson home at 1:30 Sunday, the Rev. B.A. Wendlandt officiating. Burial will be in the Dolliver cemetery.

Funeral services for Arne Peterson, who died Wednesday [January 18, 1956] morning in the Melvin Peterson home in Dolliver, will be conducted at the Peterson home and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church in Dolliver, the Rev. B.A. Wendlandt officiating. The body will lie in state at Sternborg Funeral home Saturday until 3 p.m. at which time it will be taken to the Peterson home.Estherville Daily News -- Estherville, Iowa
