1893 --- April 18, 1897
The four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Leavy died of heart failure on Sunday evening. The child was apparently in good health Sunday morning. He was taken sick in the afternoon, being attached with violent convulsions, and expired about nine o'clock in the evening. Mr. Leavy is section foreman for the North-Western railway company, and he left Tuesday morning over that road for Eagle Grove with the remains for interment. The mother was unable to accompany them on account of the serious illness of another child. Mr. and Mrs. Leavy were especially grateful to the Paullina citizens who gave assistance in their dark hour of sorrow. Being almost total strangers in the town, they were in a position to appreciate the kindness and sympathy that our good people always deem it their duty to bestow.
