George Rolf, of Eagle Grove, a Rock Island brakeman, while making a coupling at Valley Junction on Sunday, fell and was so crushed by the wheels that he died in about two hours. He was 38 years of age and leaves a wife and two children.
The above is a local item from the Des Moines Register of the 20th inst. George Rolf was a resident of Paullina for several years, having been employed here prior to his removal to Eagle Grove where he lived during his employment on the C. & N. W. railway. He was married here to Miss Schimmer, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Schimmer. A wife and two children survive him and their home is at Eagle Grove. George had many friends here who were pained to learn of his sudden death.
