Anna Mae King, 88, of Orange, TX passed away from this life on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Meadows Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Orange, TX after an illness. Ann lived in Dows, IA and graduated in 1943. She moved to Des Moines, IA and worked for Des Moines Savings and Loan, where she met her husband O. J. (Jack). She worked most of her life in clerical jobs and raising her children. All her life she enjoyed working crossword puzzles. Ann was a devoted mother and wife who loved everyone around her. She is preceded in death by her husband O. J. (Jack) King Jr. Ann is survived by her daughters Gail Colwell and husband Jack of Mitchell, S.D., Margaret (Maggi) Medina and husband Tony of Goodyear, AZ, and son Jon King and wife Sandra of Orange, TX. One brother Elmer Kraft and wife Kay of Dixon, IL, two sisters Marsha Haugen and husband Dean of Mason City, IA and Mary Rachut of Osage, IA. A brother-in-law Bill King and wife JoAnne of Oak Ridge, TN. Her grandchildren David, Amey, John, Brock, Jay, Alicia, Travis, Tyler, and Jordan; two step grandchildren Jesse and Chad; and six great grandchildren. Family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton. There will be a short service at 10:30 a.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., at the Hampton Cemetery.
