Eagle Grove, June 7 - Funeral services for William Hanson, a veteran of the World war, were held at the Kubitscheck and Kastler funeral parlors. The services were in charge of the Rev. W.G. Muhleman of the Methodist church, and burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

Mr. Hanson was born in Irwin and grew to young manhood there. He joined the United States army in 1912, and served one year in the Philippine islands, and also served in Hawaii. He was in many battles of the World war and did not receive a wound. He was given an honorable discharge but re-enlisted several times and on his discharge from the World war under the head of "Remarks" the comment was made "Service honest and faithful.

He leaves the widow, two children, his father and mother, three brothers and two sisters. The local American Legion post was guard of honor at the burial ceremony.
