Kenneth Hunter Scott
September 30, 1940 --- March 4, 2014

Mr. Kenneth H. Scott of Chase City, Va, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife Linda and son, Kristopher by his side on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Ken was born September 30, 1940 in Abingdon, Va, and was a long time resident of Chase City. Ken spent over fifty years in the transportation industry serving as regional safety director for Continental Trailways of New England and Virginia Trailways, safety director of Umthun Trucking of Eagle Grove, Iowa, safety director and Vice President of Operations of Huss, Inc., Chase City, VA , receiving many transportation Safety Awards; and CEO and President of K. Hunter, Inc. also of Chase City. He was a former Mayor of Stephens City, Va. and was highly involved in the community. He was an advocate for the Boy Scouts of America, worked with troubled youth programs, and was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Chase City, Va.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years Linda Puckett Scott, two daughters; Karen McCoy and husband Michael of Hanover, PA., Kimberly Snyder and husband Mark of Walkersville, MD. , two sons; Kenneth Scott II and wife Katie of Mt. Lookout, WV and Kristopher Scott and Fiance’ Megan Previs of Newport News, Va., eight grandchildren; Krista and husband Steven, Bryon and wife Mary, Andrew and wife Kristen, Jacki and husband Mike, Ryan, Michael, Katelyn and Nicholas, six great grandchildren, four sisters; Janey and husband Fred of Va., Joy of North Carolina, Patsy of Florida, Getty of Georgia, many nieces, nephews, cousins and two beloved puppy dogs, Allie and Annie. He was predeceased by his parents Hulen Hunter and Willie Clyde Scott, three sisters and one brother. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Friendship United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Lake Country SPCA, P. O. Box 14, Clarksville, Va. 23927 or the Friendship United Methodist Church, 25649 Hwy #49, Chase City, VA. 23924. Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
