Irvin James Knutzon, 93, passed away November 29, 2013 in West Des Moines, Iowa. A graveside burial service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Norway Lake Cemetery in Thor, Iowa. Irvin was born February 4, 1920 to George and Carla Knutzon in Thor, Iowa. He married Ellamarye Roepke on June 8, 1947. Ellamarye preceded him in death on August 8, 2013. Irvin graduated from Cornell College and received his masters from Columbia University. He was a Certified Public Accountant and remained active in his profession until just a few years ago. He was a World War II veteran and was among the brave men who landed on Omaha Beach. He is survived by sons, James (Diane) of Colorado, Kurt (Cristina) of Georgia, and Randy (Debbie) of California; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers the family appreciates donations to the Veterans of Foreign Wars USA. Hamiltons Funeral Home.
