WEBSTER CITY - Constance Sweet, 66, of Otho, formerly of Clarion, died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Unity Point Health in Fort Dodge. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center in Webster City. Constance Rae Darnell, daughter of Melvin and Rose Dalbey Darnell, was born March 8, 1947 in Webster City. She graduated from Webster City High School in 1965 and attended one year of Junior College. Connie worked for Northwestern Bell Co. as a long distance operator for 2 years after school. She married Roger E. Sweet November 4, 1967. The couple resided in Clarion. The couple later divorced. Connie worked in Clarion for over 30 years, 17 years at Hawk Golf Bag Co. and 13 years at EDS. She retired from EDS in 2003 for medical reasons. Connie made many friends with her co-workers over the years. While in Donna, TX visiting friends, she was baptized at the First Baptist Church in 2005. She was a gold member of the 700 Club for many years. After retiring, she volunteered at Wright Medical Center. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, Sally, visiting many places and meeting interesting people. Connie is survived by her daughter, Robbin Sweet, grandchildren, Jeffrey Ford, Bryanna, Shauntell, Elizabeth and Kolton Tiernan; great-granddaughter, Leona Ford; all of Fort Dodge; her sisters, Sally (Larry) Barr of Russellville, MO and Denise (Greg) Scrivner of Kaiser, MO. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her infant daughter.
