Hubbard, IA -- Funeral services will be held today, Saturday, November 30, at 11:00 am at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hubbard. Jim will be buried at the Dysart Cemetery in Dysart, IA. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. John's Evangelical Church or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

James Orr Willmore, Jr. (Jim) passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Hubbard Care Center after a lengthy bout with Parkinson's disease. He was born on July 3, 1921 in Dysart, Iowa to James Orr, Sr. and Ella (Spillman) Willmore. He graduated from Dysart High School and attended Iowa State University. Jim met his wife, Margarete Buck, while they were classmates at Dysart High. They were married on March 17, 1941.

He entered the U.S. Army in December 1942. While in the service he attended the University of Chicago under the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) for nine months in 1943. He served in both the European Theater of Operations and the Southwest Pacific Theater before being discharged in January 1946.

Jim worked in several different capacities before entering the banking field in 1956. He completed fifty-seven years in the banking business (Brenton Banks in Emmetsburg, Jefferson, and Eagle Grove, Security State Bank in Hubbard, and most recently Security State Bank in Radcliffe) at the time of his death. He served on many boards and clubs throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, golfing, woodworking, spending time with family and friends, as well as winters in Arizona. He was an Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Jim is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Margarete; two sons James Orr (Bettje) Willmore III of Wallingford, IA; John Buck (Carmen) Willmore of Hubbard, IA; four grandchildren James Orr (Christy) Willmore IV of Superior, WI; David (Jennifer) Willmore of Fishers, IN; Heather Dyar of Des Moines, IA; Benjamin Buck (Jill) Willmore of Iowa City, IA; two step-grandchildren Ashley (Casey) Lima of San Antonio, TX; Nikki Pender of Coralville, IA; seven great-grandchildren Holden Willmore, Hunter Willmore, Abigail Willmore of Superior, WI; James Orr Willmore V & Sarah Willmore of Fishers, IN; Ayden Dyar & Prentice Dyar of Des Moines, IA; and two step-great grandchildren Josh Hill of Addison, TX and Jake Hill of Stevens Point, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and two sisters, Frances E. Feller and Dorothy Mae Dethlefs. Boeke Funeral Home.
