Richard Dale Scott, age 85 of Bloomington, passed away Tuesday evening November 19, 2013 at the Richland Bean Blossom Healthcare Center. He was born April 12, 1928 in Eagle Grove, Iowa to William Clay and Mabel Helen Wildman Scott. Richard was a 1945 graduate of Shoals High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corp from 1945 until 1949. While serving in Manchester he met his future wife, Gloria Eklund of New Hampshire to whom he married September 2, 1947. Upon his return to the Bloomington area he attended Indiana University for two years before starting his career with Lefferson Radio, which lasted 42 years. He is a member of the Pentacostal Faith Assembly and the American Legion of Bloomington.

Richard leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Gloria Eklund Scott of Bloomington; sons Boyd Scott and wife Barb of Firestone, Colorado; Philip Scott and wife Judy of Bloomington; grandchildren Thomas, Bart, Jason, Ryan, Jarrod, David, Cassandra, Brendan, Brian and Brett Scott; great grandchildren Maya, Macy, Shawn, and Caleb Scott; sisters Elsie DeMontigny, Norma Long, Vivian Costa; and brother James Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Dale "Rocky" Scott, son sisters Ruby and June, and brothers, Donald, Robert and Newton.

Funeral services for Richard will be held Saturday November 23, 2013 at 11:00AM at Allen Funeral Home 4155 South Old Highway 37. Reverend Michael Douglas will preside. Burial will follow in the Valhalla Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home from 4:00PM until 7:00PM.
