Martin "Gale" Rehm

Gale Rehm, 74, of Alden, Iowa, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013, at North Iowa Hospice House, Mason, City, Iowa. Funeral services for Gale Rehm will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 2712 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Saturday, October 19th at Linn’s Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Burial will be at the Alden Township Cemetery, Alden, Iowa. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Alden Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Martin “Gale” Rehm was born January 5, 1939, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Martin Carl Ludwig Rehm and Blanche [Whisler] Rehm. He graduated from the Alden, Iowa Community Schools with the class of 1957. He served in the Iowa National Guard for several years as a young man. On September 23, 1960, Gale was united in marriage to Donna Jean Marie Osmanson at the Temple Baptist Church, Omaha, Nebraska. He was a self employed farmer, farming for many years north of Iowa Falls, south of Dows and west of Alden, Iowa. He was employed at Farmland Foods, Iowa Falls for 15 years starting the day they opened the plant. He attended Bethany Lutheran Church of Iowa Falls. Gale loved to work on the farm and in the garden. Sharing produce from the garden with others was very important to him. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren. One of his favorite pastimes was telling stories (fact, fiction, or embellished) and making people laugh.

Gale Rehm is survived by his wife: Donna Rehm of Alden, Iowa; his children: Tammy [Bob] Senn of Alden, Iowa, Wendy Rehm of Ames, Iowa, Kim [Jeff] Jacob of Corona, California; his grandchildren: Samara, Blake, Ashley, Amber; one great grandchild Tristan; one brother: Carl Gene [Marilyn] Rehm of Dows, Iowa; and nieces and nephew: Krista [Brett] State and their children; Logan and Cassidy of Dows, Iowa; Adam [Crystal] Rehm and their children; Kyle, Jacob, Ryan, and Kennedy of Iowa Falls; Sherry [Dave] Meints and their children; Kylie, Jorie, Braden, and Braxton of Belmond, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Timothy Rehm and one sister Jane Rehm.
