GALVA, IL — James W. Keena, 70, died Wednesday morning at his home in Galva. He had been in failing health the past few years. He was born July 12, 1892, at Eagle Grove, Iowa, where he was educated. He worked as a boilermaker on a railroad and in 1947 moved to Galva, where he was employed by the Galva Foundry. Mr. Keena later joined the Galva Police Department, serving two years until retirement in 1949. He was married May 6, 1927, at Rock Island to Ida E. Lucke. He was a member of the Galva Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow; a son Merle of Rockford; two daughters, Mrs. John (Mildred) Harper of Mount Sterling and Mrs. Thomas (Garnet) Clark of Iowa Falls, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Challe
of Webster City, Iowa; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Johnson-Gill-Schuster Chapel in Galva, where friends may call Friday evening. Burial will be in the Galva Cemetery, with the Rev.
