Mrs. Torkel Larson of Eagle Grove Laid to Rest

EAGLE GROVE, March 30 — Funeral services for Mrs. Torkel Larson, 85,, were held at the East Side Lutheran church on Thursday, and burial was made in Rose Hill cemetery. Mrs. Larson was born in Torpen, Norway, of French ancestry on her father's side, her maiden name being Helen Shirley. She came with her parents to America in 1853, locating in Rock county, Wisconsin, moving to Pocahontas county, Ia., in 1871. Mr. Larson died in 1923. Mrs. Larson is survived by two sons and three daughters: Horace and Ira Larson of Pocahontas; Mrs. Cora Hunter of Fonda; Mrs. Ella Keena of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Iva Olson of Webster City; also 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
