Irene Davids, 92, died Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Kanawha Community Home. Services will be held Friday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha with Pastor Steve Schulz and Pastor Daniel Lindley officiating. Interment will follow at Wright Christian Reformed Cemetery in Kanawha. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Irene was born April 30, 1921 to Menno and Stenja (Mehmen) Boomgarden in Parkersburg. On September 19, 1938 she married William Davids. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Ann Bean and Amanda Plotner; brothers Claus, Jake and Oliver Boomgarden; and two great grandchildren.

Irene is survived by her daughters Ramona (Eugene) Harken of Aplington, Sue (Jack) Magness of Beatrice, NE and Doris Swenson of Belmond; sons Roger (Karen) Davids of Council Bluffs and James (Anita) Davids of Urbandale; grandchildren Dennis (Tam) Harken, Darrel (Christine) Harken, David (Cathy) Harken, Kim Salts, Kelly (Shane) Lea, Rodney Davids, Angie (Amer) Jaber, Liz (Dan) Martin, Becca (Sam) Jackson, Charstie (Rick) Thorson, Cory (Patty) Davids, Annette (Paul) Anderson, Andrea (Chad) Buseman and Jon Swenson; 36 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
