August 13, 1853 --- August 21, 1916

Friends of John Anderson were not surprised of his death which occurred at his home north west of Hardy, Monday morning at half past eight o'clock. Mr. Anderson has had ill health for the past four years. The last year and a half of which he has been confined to his bed. The nature of his illness was such that physicians were able to give very little relief, consequently Mr. Anderson has been almost an incessant sufferer during his entire illness. Yet with much patience Mr. Anderson endured his sufferings and always gratefully received the kind and tender ministration of his family and many friends. The funeral service were conducted by Rev. Edge, the local pastor. A brief service was held at the home before preceding to the M. E. church of Hardy, where Rev. Share, preached a beautiful and comforting sermon. Internment was in the cemetery east of Hardy.
