Mrs. Dena Olson, 86, a former Bode and Thor resident, died Thursday at the Good Samaritan Home in Pocahontas. She had been living at the home for the past two years. Funeral services will be held at 3:45 p.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Bode. The Rev. M.O. Kraabel will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Schellhammer Funeral Home of West Bend in charge of arrangements. The body will be taken from the funeral home to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

Mrs. Olson, the former Dena Kirkeberg, was born at Thor and attended school there. She was graduated from Humboldt College in Humboldt and following her graduation taught for several years at Thor. She was married in June 1897, to Henry C. Olson at Thor. Mr. Olson died several years ago. Surviving Mrs. Olson are three sons and three daughters. They are Erwin and Earling, both of Bode; Clayton, Puyallup, Wash.; Mrs. Della Brown, La Grange Park, Ill.; Mrs. Clarice Ellenbecker, Villa Park, Ill.; and Mrs. Fred Johnson, Pipestone, Minn. Seven grandchildren also survive.
