L. W. Miller Services Monday Afternoon In Humboldt

Funeral services for Leon W. Miller, long-time publisher of The Renwick Times until 10 years ago, were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Bogaard Funeral Home in Humboldt. Officiating at the service was the Rev. Harold W. Dellit, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Livermore. Interment was in the Union Cemetery at Livermore.

Mr. Miller died Saturday, April 30, at his home in Livermore after a lingering illness. Casket bearers were Ross H. Clark, Charles Rummens, Weaver Hewitt, Dr. T. D. Rossing, Karl Baessler and John Hohenberger.

Leon William Miller, son of the late William F. and Anna Hartman Miller, was born October 13, 1889 at Livermore, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Livermore Saturday, April 30, 1955 at 10:20 a.m., at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 17 days following an illness of six and one half years. He received his education in the public schools of Livermore and Drake University at Des Moines and served two years in the U. S. Navy.

He was married January 5, 1913, to Jessamine Murray and to this union was born, Reginar Robert, Mrs. Harl Gimer of Renwick. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Miller purchased a printing office at West Point, Ill., where they lived for two years. In 1915 they purchased The Renwick Times at Renwick, Iowa, where they remained until 1945, when they gave up their business and moved to Livermore to care for his aged parents, who preceded him in death; his mother on February 19, 1948 and his father on April 21, 1951.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Jessamine, one daughter Regina, Mrs. Harl Gimer, one grandson and one brother, Karl of Aurora, Ill, and a host of friends.
