April 5, 1896 --- January 1964

George D. Bannick, the son of Hans and Elsie Bannick, was born April 5, 1896, at Renwick, Iowa. He grew up in Vernon Township near Renwick and attended the Vernon Township schools. On December 25, 1920 he was married to Etta Matthews at Renwick. Following their marriage they lived at Woolstock, Iowa for two years and then farmed near Lone Rock, Iowa for twenty-eight years. In 1955 they retired from farming and moved to a home in Renwick, where they have continued to live in retirement. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Renwick and held membership in that church.

Mr. Bannick passed away at his home on Tuesday afternoon following along illness. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Georgetta (Mrs. George Dreyer) of Austin, Minn. and LaVonne (Mrs. Spencer Hotz) of Reno, Nev.; nine grandchildren, and one sister Mrs. (Catherine Markman) of Renwick. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Interment was in the Vernon Cemetery.
