SERVICES FOR J. VAN BOHNING

John Van Bohning, 413 S. 8th St. died in a Mason City hospital late Monday night, May 26 [1969]. He had been hospitalized two weeks. Services will be held on Thursday, May 29, at 2 p.m. in the Christian Church with Rev. James Kratz officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery with the Wilcox Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Van Bohning was born July 2, 1883, at Belmond. He was the son of Andrew and Gaelke Berg Bohning. He graduated from memorial University in Mason City in 1904. He married Edna Fulghum at mason City, they moved to Clear Lake in 1923. He was manager for many years at the Farmers Lumber and Elevator Company. He was a member of the Christian Church, and a life time member of Odd Fellows, served on the school board and city council.

Mr. Van Bohning is survived by his wife, Edna; one son, Rollin, Lake City, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Hugh (Gladys) Jones, Queens Village, N.Y., Mrs. A. F. (Gretchen) Burkart, Mason City; five grandchildren; one brother, Will, Belmond. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
