Suzanne Irene (Hill) Messick, age 54, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013, in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013, in The Chapel at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Ardmore, Okla.

Suzanne was born on August 14, 1959, in Belmond, Iowa, to William Harry and Doris Hill. She was preceded in death by her mother; and nephew, Ben Perry. Suzanne attended CAL Community High School in Latimer and earned her teaching degree at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. After college, she worked retail at Country Classics in Latimer and then became district manager for Stevenson's in the Oklahoma and Texas area. She met John Messick in Oklahoma and they were married on June 10, 1990. To this union one child was born, Hannah Lorene Messick. Suzanne was a stay-at-home mom until Hannah started school and then she took a paraprofessional position at Dickson Public Schools, where she worked until her death. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint, and baking, but most of all, spending time with her family. Especially her granddaughter, Charslee, who always brought a smile to her face.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, John, of Ardmore, Okla.; daughter, Hannah Messick-Osteen, and husband, Dusty, and granddaughter, Charslee; father, W. Harry Hill, of Alexander, Iowa; siblings, Debra Perry and husband, Duane, Craig Hill and wife, Deb, and Carla Roberts, all of Iowa; nieces and nephews, Shawn Hill and wife, Michelle, Amanda Teske and husband, Dan, Emily Lamfers and husband, Rob, Nick Roberts, and Harry Roberts; sister-in-law, Ramona Susnic and husband, James, and their children, Jessica Carey and husband, Jeff, Janet Sanders and husband, Rob, Jim Susnic and wife, Lise', and Jeannie Mullen and husband, Dave. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rick Hinton, Lath Hinton, John Messick, Craig Hill, Duane Perry, and Dusty Osteen. Family visitation will be held on Sunday afternoon, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., August 25, 2013, at Griffin~Hillcrest.
