Delores “Tootie” Koob, 76, of Humboldt, passed away August 16, 2013 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Mason-Lindhart Funeral Home in Humboldt. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Humboldt. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Delores is survived by her companion, Thomas Orr and her children, Gary (Kathy) Lankford of Livermore, Carla Lankford of Humboldt, Rick (Renee) Koob of Humboldt, Darla (Kevin) Stockman of Ogden, Randy (Beth) Koob of Hardy, Troy (Sue) Koob of Humboldt, Brenda (Kelly) Dahl of Kearney, NE, and Lynn (Steve) Dahlsten of Pomeroy; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Lankford and Merrill Koob; her mother and father; daughter, Kim Dahlsten; twin daughters, Marlynn and Marlene Koob; great grandson, Alex Warren; and her brother, Roger Williams.

Delores Kay Williams, the daughter of Margaret Gruis Geary and Morris Williams was born January 10, 1937 in Belmond, Iowa. As a girl, Delores moved to Humboldt where she worked in Skaugstad's Nursing Home and the bakery to help support her family. In 1952, she married George Lankford until his death in 1957. On March 15, 1958, she married Merrill Koob and the couple maintained their home in Humboldt. Delores was a homemaker most of her life until her children were grown. She then worked for Montgomery Wards in Humboldt and later worked seasonally at the DeKalb Seed Corn Plant and planting test plots. Delores also worked at for Hamilton Cleaners and as a waitress in Humboldt. Delores loved bingo and trips to the casino. She enjoyed cat fishing, gardening, flea markets, and garage sales. She especially loved having a revolving door at her home and always having the coffee pot on for family and friends. Her children will always remember her as a good mother who did a great job of sheltering them.
