BLUE MOUND — Pearle Irene Eggerth Hogsett, age 86, devoted wife, mother and grammy passed away unexpectedly in Ogden, Utah on April 27, 2013 in the arms of her daughter. Born on December 9, 1926, to Irene Trummel Eggerth and George William Eggerth near Renwick, Iowa, she grew up on the family farm; an only child she was blessed by a lifelong friendship with her cousin who lived in the next section. Following high school she graduated from business school before working for the Veterans Administration in Des Moines, Iowa. She later shared her administrative skills with the Macon County Cooperative Extension Service and the University Of Illinois Department Of Agricultural Engineering.

Pearle married Lowell C. Augustine in March 1947 and moved to a farm near Blue Mound, Illinois. They were parents of one daughter, Kathryn (Kathy) and two sons, William (Bill) and Anthony (Tony). Later she married Ordie L. Hogsett in January 1979. They retired in 1983 moving to Annabella, Utah to pursue hobbies including worldwide travel. Pearle's avocations were drawing house floor plans and flower gardening plus a keen interest in the interrelationship of government, finance and world affairs. Ordie passed away in July 2012.

She is survived by daughter, Kathy Augustine Amos of Ogden, Utah and sons, Dr. William (wife Sue) Augustine of Malta, Illinois, and Tony Augustine of Danville, Illinois; grandchildren, Cristina Amos of Ogden, Utah, Dr. Paul (wife Dr. Jami) Augustine of DeKalb, Illinois and Joy (husband Scott) Jones of Prairie Village, Kansas; and great-grandchildren, Addison Jones and Justin Jones. Also surviving is her special cousin, Mrs. Arlene Fitch of Renwick, Iowa.

A joint funeral service for Pearle and Ordie will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound, Illinois. Friends may call prior to the funeral from 1:00-2:00 pm. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Boody, IL. A memorial service was held earlier on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Community United Methodist Church, 163 West 4800 South in Washington Terrace, Utah. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Community United Methodist Church Handbell Choirs or the Illinois International 4-H Youth Exchange Association.
