John R. Barniskis, age 69, passed away on March 11, 2013 in Waukesha after a brief illness. John was born on January 12, 1944 in Springfield, Ill., the son of Walter and Catherine Barnowski. John is survived by his wife, Clarion native Cheryl Poulson Barniskis of Waukesha. Cheryl is a 1967 graduate of Clarion High School. In addition to his wife Cheryl, John is survived by three children, one grandson, mother-in-law, Irene Poulson of Clarion and by one brother and a sister. Visitation was held on Saturday, March 16, at Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 380 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha, Wisconsin, with Funeral Services at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society are suggested. Church and Chapel Funeral Home in Waukesha, Wisconsin assisted with the arrangements.

Brother of Walter (Mary Sue) Barniskis of New Hope, MN and Catherine (James) Berges of St. Louis, MO. Brother-in-law of Dennis (Jo) Poulson of Dale City, VA. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Visitation Saturday March 16, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd. Waukesha, (4 blocks south of I-94 on the corner of J and JJ), with Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. John was a retired senior systems analyst from Cooper Industries in Waukesha with 38 years of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
