Mrs. J. H. Ramsay Dies Wednesday

A well-known Clarion lady, Mrs. J. H. Ramsay, 93, died Wednesday morning at Clarion Memorial hospital. Mrs. Ramsay was born at Paxton, Ill., and lived there until after her marriage to J. H. Ramsay on Sept. 14, 1897. Her maiden name was Julia Moffett. Mr. and Mrs. Ramsay moved to Owatonna, Minn., and in 1899 they moved to Clarion where they started a store in the new Crowe Building just completed. Mrs. Ramsay was a member of the United Presbyterian Church at Clarion all of the years of her residence here. She was a teacher in the Sunday school for many years. She worked with her husband in the store for about 50 years with the exception of a few years when her son, Paul, was a small child. Mrs. Ramsay is survived by one son, Paul, Clarion; two grandchildren and three grandchildren.
