William C. Anselment (Bill), of Golden, age 85, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO from complications of prostate cancer. He was born on June 19, 1928 in Humboldt, Iowa to Nora O'Donnell Anselment and William A. Anselment. His childhood years were spent in Humboldt and Dakota City, Iowa helping on his family farms. Bill joined the Navy in 1946 serving as an electronic technician. After he returned home, he attended Iowa State University majoring in Electrical Engineering. On September 2, 1951, he was joined in marriage to Anne Nagle of Clarion, Iowa. After graduating from Iowa State, he was employed by ALCOA for 11 years starting in Denver, CO and then transferring to Pittsburgh, PA. He was then employed by Brock Equipment Company in Crystal Lake, IL as a General Manager and Executive Vice President. After residing in Algonquin, IL for 12 years, he and his family decided to return to the state they loved, Colorado. In 1977, he and is family moved to the foothills outside of Morrison, CO. He worked for W.W. Granger and retired in 1989. Bill's retirement years were spent enjoying hiking, camping, backpacking, adventurous travels, and time with family, grandchildren and friends. Bill and his wife Anne, volunteered at Evergreen High School for 10 years and he was also active in the Evergreen chapter of PFLAG. In 2007, Bill and Anne moved from the mountains to Golden, CO.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; children Randal, David, and Lisa (Davis); four grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Alison and Maya and great granddaughter, Jacey. He is preceded in death by his son, Ron. Bill will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit, his adventuresome spirit, love of nature, hiking and his joy of living in his mountain home. Though he will be greatly missed, he will live on in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 3:30 PM at Jefferson Unitarian Church, 14350 W. 32nd Ave., Golden, CO 80401. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either PFLAG of Denver, or Jefferson Unitarian Church.
