Cedar Falls, IA - Howard Ray Settle, 84, died Friday, May 31 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born December 22, 1928 in Colo, Iowa, the son of Francis and Gladys (Bruner) Settle. He married Donna Marie Widen on May 24, 1952 in Corwith, Iowa. Howard graduated with a degree in accounting from American Institute of Business, and worked as a sales associate with Dick Witham Chevrolet and also Community Motors. Survived by his wife; seven daughters: Pamela (Leon) Schrad of Melbourne, IA, Debra (Marty) Kerkhoff of Manning, IA, Diane (Rich) Calligan of Sycamore, IL, Janet (Daniel) Ekstrom of Cedar Falls, Joleen (Jeff) Moe of Clarksville, TN, Carol (Greg) Matthias of Papillion, NE, and Jennifer Settle of West Chester, PA; two sons: Michael Settle of Cedar Falls, and Thomas (Stephanie) Settle of West Des Moines, IA; one brother: Wm. Lloyd (Donna) Settle of Cedar Rapids, IA; also by 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters. Services: 10:30am Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4:30-7pm Tuesday, June 4, with 4pm rosary and 7pm vigil service at Richardson Funeral Service, and also one hour prior to mass at the church. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
