December 23, 1828 --- July 10, 1912

The death of Geo. Kelling last week marked the passing away of another of our most highly respected pioneers. For more than fifty years Mr. Kelling had been residing on the farm where he died. His wife, the mother of thirteen children, all of whom are living, proceeded him about ten years since to the better land. Ten of the thirteen children were present at the funeral services of their respected father, which was held at the beautiful farm home, Rev. Cuthbert of the Goldfield M. E. church giving the address. A quartette, Madames Claude Martin and W. J. Braden and Monsieurs E. R. Wallace and T. R. Beveridge sang a number of hymns. The large attendance at the funeral of friends and neighbors of the deceased, was evidence of their respect and love for him and their sympathy for the bereaved.
