Eileen D. Braner, age 90, of Belmond passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond. Funeral services for Eileen D. Braner will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday June 15, 2013 at the Immanuel Reformed Church east of Belmond. Pastor David DeKuiper will officiate. Burial will take place in the Immanuel Reformed Church cemetery. Visitation for Eileen D. Braner will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday June 14, 2013 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luick’s Lane South in Belmond and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Eileen D. the daughter of Earl and Buelah Ruka of Goodell was born June 9, 1922 in Goodell. She attended country school and graduated from Goodell High School in 1939. Eileen was united in marriage to Donald Braner on November 8, 1942. The couple made their home in Belmond where they would farm together and raise a family. They were blessed with two sons, Les and Randall. They farmed with Don’s dad until 1949, when his parents moved into Belmond. Eileen and Don then farmed from 1949 until 1981, when they moved into Belmond. They then farmed with son Les, until his passing in 2002. Eileen joined the Immanuel Reformed Church in 1943 and was active in the church. She was active in women’s group, was a Sunday School teacher, and the Junior Choir director for many years. Eileen was involved in Belmond serving congregate meals and meals on wheels. She enjoyed helping out at the nursing home over the years.
