William Roy Crosby, 47, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Aug. 1, 1994 at North Iowa Medical Centers east campus. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 4, at 11:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake. The Rev. Dennis Nicholson will officiate. A 2 p.m. graveside service will be held at Madison Township Cemetery in Forest City, Iowa. Visitation will begin today (Wednesday), Aug. 3, at 3 p.m. at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. The family suggests memorials to the William R. Crosby memorial fund.
Bill was born May 18, 1947, in Belmond, Iowa, the son of Jack Crosby and Audrey nee) Chase Crosby. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Bonnie Jean Brown on Jan. 19, 1968, in Belmond, Iowa. They moved to Clear Lake after their marriage. Bill loved to camp, travel, fish, spend time with his grandson and his dog. He belonged to National Organization of D.A.V. He is survived by his son Cary Crosby, Clear Lake; four sisters, Barbara Arthur and her husband, Wayne, Alexander, Iowa, Beverly Nath, Waco, Texas, Bobbi Husske and her husband, Bruce, Garner, Iowa, Kathy Kinseth and her husband, Dean, Longmont, Colo.; one brother James Crosby, Waco, Texas; one grandson Chase Crosby, Northwood, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1992; and one brother, Jack Crosby.
